King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel - Kailua Kona (Big Island), Hawaii

King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel in Kailua Kona is haunted by ancient spirits. The top floor echoes with battle cries, chanting, and ghostly footsteps. Many believe this haunting is due to the fact that King Kamehameha spent his final days here, and his bones are secretly buried somewhere beneath the hotel. On the bottom floor, a row of oil paintings of Hawaiian royalty hangs on the wall, with one—Queen Lili’uokalani—reported to breathe in and out while glaring at visitors.
