Mount Misery in Huntington is part of a tragic history that spans back to the 1840s when a hospital was built on the land, only to burn down twice. Visitors and staff alike have reported hearing eerie moaning and cries for help emanating from the site. Today, the park remains a place where burning specters are said to be seen, wandering the grounds of the former hospital.
